‘…May you enter beautifully into the feminine,
Learning to trust the world of feeling you inherit,
Finding ease and elegance in all you are.

May your respect for your beauty
Become visible in your dignity
And how you hold yourself in the world…’

John O’ Donohue – Excerpt from Benedictus

The many contrasts of Hobart. Taking a panoramic image of the divine feminine and nurture, in the Hobart Peace Park whilst being buffeted by the wind, and subject to loud gangster rap – with derogatory lyrics about women.

This small park is holding such a sacred space – it is not trying to draw people into conflict, puffing up it’s ego, nor being reactive. It is one tiny triangle of land – that has been blessed by many nationalities and spiritual leaders – holding the space for peace.

I love this statue – the nurture of the Great Mother : how we nurture ourselves – our own inner child – and provide nurture for others, whether we are male or female. The inner feminine, the outer feminine and Papatuanuku, the source of life. Never underestimate the effects of a small act of kindness or compassion – these are revolutionary acts in a world turned upside down.
